It’s Time(ly)

It’s Time(ly) advocates for discussions of power, privilege, and socioeconomic status within design education. As I progressed through my own education, I gradually noticed that conversations we were having about design and its role within society lacked a thorough examination how power, privilege, and socioeconomic status intersect and influence our perspectives as designers and users.

My research included secondary articles from designers who noted similar shortfalls within design education, as well as interviews with educators and practicing designers. My prospectus lays the groundwork for the continuation of my research and eventual publication of my findings in an article on Medium.
